The Analysis on Learning Style Inventory of Optometry Major Students in a University-Focus on the Gender and Grade-

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study to analyze the relationship between learning style and gender and grade in students majoring in optometry.

Methods: Using the Kolb Learning Style Inventory (KLSI Ver. 3.1), we surveyed 105 students (65 males, 40 females, 34 freshmen, 23 second grade, 22 third grade, 26 juniors in K university.


Results: First, regarding the survey of gender, the ranking of the learning style of males was assimilator=accommodator>diverger>converger, and the ranking of the learning style of females was accommodator>diverger>assimilator>converger. Regarding the survey of grades, the ranking of the learning style of the freshmen was diverger>accommodator>assimilator>converger, the ranking of the learning style of the second graders was accommodator>diverger=assimilator=converger, the ranking of the learning style of the third graders was diverger=assimilator>accommodator, and the ranking of the learning style of the juniors was accommodator>assimilator>diverger>converger.

Conclusions: Based on the outcomes of this study, professors and educators should develop a teaching method that suits the learning styles and curriculum of students majoring in optometry.
